And we have great news! The FDA has approved a prescription eye drop that improves age-related blurry near vision (a condition called presbyopia) in adults. It’s called Vuity™, and Carter Eye Center is among the first practices in Dallas to offer it.

Presbyopia Explained
This age-related vision condition reduces the ability of your eye to focus on near objects. It occurs when the lens inside your eye slowly loses its flexibility, making it more difficult to focus up close. Diminished reading vision cannot be prevented with lifestyle changes, vitamins or diet. Truthfully, you can’t avoid it. Because presbyopia is an age-related condition, just about everyone will deal with it at some stage.
How Does Vuity Work?
The prescription eye drop can be applied once a day at home in each eye and works by reducing your pupil size. It contracts certain muscles in your eye so you can see up close. Hello convenience and goodbye readers! Additionally, the drops are designed to adjust to your body’s pH level to avoid any burning, stinging or discomfort.
Is Vuity Right For Me?
Simply schedule an appointment to find out. Our team will do a comprehensive eye exam, and if Vuity is a good fit for your vision, we will write you a prescription for the drops. You can fill them at your local pharmacy; they can range anywhere from $79 to $101 per bottle depending on where you have them filled and other factors. From there, we’ll do a follow-up to ensure you’re loving your results.
