Reading Vision Correction Treatments
Until recently, reading glasses were the only real option for the treatment of presbyopia. But, who likes readers? Or wants to wear them for the rest of their life?! Not you!
No worries. We’ve got you. Thanks to advances in refractive and lens exchange procedures, Carter Eye Center is able to offer several treatments available to address and correct your reading vision challenges.
If you’re tired of reading glasses, we may be able to significantly reduce or, in some cases, even eliminate your reading vision challenges. Depending on your lifestyle and goals, as well as your unique eyes, Dr. Carter will discuss reading vision correction options with you, including:
- LASIK (monovision) – With monovision LASIK, one eye is corrected for distance vision and the other eye for near vision. While it may sound strange, monovision actually works quite well. Typically very quickly, the eyes adjust and work in concert to allow for improved vision at both distances.
- Clear Lens Exchange – Sometimes called Refractive Lens Exchange, this is a procedure in which the eye’s natural lens is removed and replaced with an artificial lens to improve vision, effectively reducing dependency on glasses, contacts even reading glasses. CLE can address a variety of vision challenges, including nearsightedness, farsightedness, astigmatism and presbyopia.
